Rotary connects! Rotarians were connected with the people of Oneida Nation when Chief Todd Cornelius visited the April 13, 2026 meeting as guest speaker.
As the Elected Chief of the Oneida Nation of the Thames, Todd Cornelius is known for his steady leadership, clear communication, and genuine dedication to serving community. Now in his second term, he brings a grounded, people-first approach to every table he sits at—whether advocating for Oneida’s rights, supporting community programs, or showing up for families at local events. Bear Clan and Onʌyota’a:ka—People of the Standing Stone—Elected Chief Cornelius carries his responsibilities with humility, humour, and a strong commitment to Haudenosaunee values. His leadership centers on collaboration, honesty, and practical action. He remains focused on strengthening community wellbeing, supporting youth, protecting land and treaty rights, and ensuring decisions made today honour the next seven generations. He told us of the ongoing challenges of housing and access to clean drinking water, issues that are being slowly addressed. It is a matter of dignity to be able to trust something as basic as water. He constantly asks, “How can we grow in a good way?” Members and prospective members are invited to reflect on his message and consider how Rotary can stand alongside the Oneida Nation in respectful partnership and practical support.
Chief Todd Cornelius’ visit was a reminder that leadership rooted in values and community makes a real difference. If you care about community wellbeing, youth, and protecting rights for future generations, consider joining the conversation and our efforts to act with integrity and compassion.
