An Environmental Moment at Rotary. On OCTOBER 27th- Rotary Club of London’s member Dr. Terry Peters — Professor Emeritus of Medical Imaging, Medical Biophysics, and the School of Biomedical Engineering at Western University — shared this week’s Environmental Moment as part of his presentation on Plant-Rich Diets,
Terry highlighted how even small dietary changes can make a big environmental impact: Lower greenhouse gas emissions Reduced land use and deforestation Lower water and energy consumption Improved soil health and biodiversity Greater resilience to climate change. The bottom line: Giving up meat just three days a week is like parking your car for two months each year!If the entire city of London went meat-free three days a week, it could save an estimated 325,000 tonnes of CO₂ annually — a powerful reminder that individual choices add up.Terry also serves on the Executive of Rotary District 6330’s Environment Committee, helping inspire action across our region to protect the planet we all share.
