Our upcoming meeting is on Monday, May11th, 2026, at The Grove located at the Western Fairgrounds

  • Time: The fellowship room and buffet will open at 11:30AM. Please plan to arrive no later than 11:45 AM to serve yourself and find a table. Our meeting will start promptly at noon and conclude by 1:00 PM.

  • Guest Speaker: Dr Brant Inman--Professor of Urology and Oncology at Western University.

  • Cost: $25.00 per person (self-serve lunch buffet).

To ensure accurate numbers for the venue, we kindly ask that you register no later than 12:00 PM on Friday, May 8th. After registering, please e-transfer your payment to The Rotary Club of London at sronson55@gmail.com. Include the names of all attendees in the e-transfer memo so that Sandy Ronson can track payments.

Dr. Inman is Chin-Hardie Chair of Urologic Oncology and Professor of Urology and Oncology at Western University. He received his Bachelor of Medical Science degrees from the University of Alberta in Edmonton, then completing his urology residency at Université Laval in Québec City in 2005, Followed by his Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester 3 years later. Dr. Inman’s medical practice is subspecialized in the field of urologic oncology and his research interests include nanotechnology, tumor immunology, and clinical trials. “Screening for Common Genitourinary Cancers” explores how early detection can significantly improve outcomes for cancers affecting the urinary system and male reproductive organs, including prostate, bladder, and kidney cancers. This presentation will highlight how urologists detect cancers and what symptoms should trigger investigation. Guidelines will be discussed as will the relationship between early diagnosis and treatment outcomes. Attendees will gain practical insights into recognizing risk factors and the important role screening plays in saving lives.

Club members, Rotaract and friends plant trees at Blackmaple Park on Sunday, April 26th.
 
The Rotary Club of Wiarton donated $10,600.00 to the Peninsula Shores District School Breakfast Club. This program ensures that healthy breakfast foods and snacks are available to all children attending PSDS. Rotarians Kristan and Mike Revell are shown presenting the cheque to Vice-Principal Susan Jamieson and students from PSDS.
Rotary Club of Grand Bend completes eye glasses project in Africa. The Rotary Club of Grand Bend received the Final Report on the Hout Bay South Africa project. Here is some of the information and smiling faces that were part of this children's program. We screened 2,129 children and dispensed 597 pairs of glasses. The need remains high and continues to increase, with 25% of primary school students and 37% of high school students requiring glasses. Overall, across all schools, 28% of students need glasses.
Rotary Club of Railway City St Thomas works at and donates $2,500.00 to Harvest Hands.
