Two large bags of glasses (and some cases) were collected by Club Rotarians and many donated by members of the Lambeth United Church. No longer useful to owners here in Lambeth and area, they will be given new life in Cuba. Our Guest speaker at last Tuesdays Rotary meeting was Jennifer Raymer (middle) from Together for Cuba a not-for-profit initiative to assist Cuba’s orphans and medical systems. Under the umbrella of MissionGO, they deliver vital services, such as housing, medical supplies and education. She will be shipping/taking our donation on her next trip to Cuba where they will be checked for prescription and matched to someone who can benefit. London Lambeth Rotary has been collecting used eyeglasses for years to help give the gift of sight to people in poorer nations. after our original destination in Mexico became difficult, our Past President, Bob Boyce (left), found Together for Cuba. We sent one large donation with her a year or so ago, and now more. Also in the picture is John Robinson, our current President We are beginning to collect for next year. Have some you want to donate? Send us a message and we will have someone contact you.
