Nine clubs in Area 4, Aylmer, London, London East, London Lambeth, London Hyde Park, London North. London South, London West and St Thomas are in the final stages of completing this year’s project.

The Dictionary Project was started 4 years ago by Sue Storie, a member of RC London Hyde Park and has been an Area project for the past 3 years, with all Clubs participating in the past two years.

RC Aylmer, RC London and RC London West also provide dictionaries to ESL (English Second Language) students at several locations.

The presentations are made by teams of Rotarians from each Club in the classroom.

The dictionary is given to the student for them to keep for their own personal use. Stickers are placed on the inside cover of each book, showing the Rotary logo and the name of the Rotary Club as well as a place for the student to insert his or her name.

This year’s project involves distribution of approximately 5000 dictionaries to grade 3 students in 115 elementary schools and 500 to 6 ESL programs.

The cost of the dictionaries purchased this year is $ 18720.00 US, which was supported by a $5500 District Simplified Grant.
